What is garment fidelity?

Garment fidelity is how closely an edited or AI-made image matches the real garment: its colour, print, fabric, construction and proportions. An image with high fidelity shows a shopper exactly what will arrive.

What should match the source?

Glammo AI made these frames from a flat lay of a cream cable-knit sweater. To judge fidelity, follow the cables, the ribbing and the colour from the source into each frame.

Why does garment fidelity matter?

A product image is a promise. If the buttons, the print or the shade change between the photo and the parcel, the shopper receives something they didn't choose.

AI-made images make fidelity a review step. Glammo is built to keep each garment's colour, print and construction, but AI can miss a detail: a button too many, a stripe that narrows, letters that shift. Images don't measure fit either.

What do you check for garment fidelity?

  • Colour

Compare side by side on one screen. Heathered, neon and very dark shades need a closer look.

  • Print and pattern

Scale, position, direction and repeat should match. Stripes keep their width, and checks keep their size.

  • Construction

Collar, seams, pockets, pleats and the number of buttons.

  • Proportions

Length, sleeve length and overall shape: a boxy cut stays boxy.

  • Text and logos

Read every letter. Small text needs checking one character at a time.

How do you check an image for garment fidelity?

  1. 01

Put source and result side by side

View both at full size on the same screen.

  2. 02

    Work through a fixed order

Colour, then print, then construction, then proportions, so nothing gets skipped.

  3. 03

    Keep, remake or reject

Keep what matches, make another option when a detail is wrong, and never publish an image you'd have to explain.

Common questions

Can AI images be fully faithful to the garment?

Not every time. Glammo is built to keep each garment's colour, print and construction, but AI can miss a detail, so every image needs checking against the real product before it's published.

Does garment fidelity include fit?

No. An AI-made image can match a garment's look, but it can't measure how the garment fits a body. Size guides and measurements carry fit information.

What leads to low garment fidelity?

Low garment fidelity often starts with a blurry, cropped or warmly lit source photo, or with very fine details such as small text and thin stripes. A sharp, evenly lit photo of the whole garment gives the best start.
